4 Ways To Keep Your Building Project Within Budget

Building projects are always exciting, but making sure they stay within budget can be a tricky task. Luckily, we have a few tips that will help you stay on budget so keep reading…

Firstly, it’s vital that you get a fixed quote and not an estimate for any work that you’re having done. This is because a builder could end up going way over an estimate, leaving you with a bill of thousands of pounds more expensive than you expected.

Secondly, make sure you and your builder are on the same page in regard to the cost of materials. Let them know exactly how much you’re willing to spend on bricks, paint, and any other products so they can plan accordingly.

You could also score some discounts on materials by opening a trade account for your project at a local builders’ merchants, which should give you money off products in store. Having a trade account at a builders’ merchants also comes with the added benefit of being able to ask the staff for advice. They’ll have lots of experience with building projects and will be able to work out quantities for you, ensuring that you won’t end up wasting money or materials by buying too much.

Finally, remember that the cheapest quote isn’t always the best quote – saving money on a cheap building project will cost longer in the long run when you need some inevitable repairs!

If you’re in the Cambridgeshire area and want a building project completed to a high standard and within a set budget, look no further. With years of experience under our belts, we can help with renovations, brickwork, roofing, and anything else you may need. Get in touch today and we’ll be happy to chat about what we can do for you.
